Hi, I'm Rebecca, a Registered Psychologist and qualified Gestalt Therapist. I provide help, guidance and support for individuals and couples experiencing barriers to becoming parents, so they have someone to go to to talk about and understand the psychological impacts.
I'll give you a space to express your voice when it feels like you don't have one.
The medical industry can be a very cold and unforgiving place to find yourself a part of. I know. I've been in that space of uncertainty and I felt scared.
At the beginning it's a big unknown. In fact, along the way the unknown doesn't always go away.
So many questions and so much to understand. You don't know what the process is and what's coming next. You dare to dream and try to be positive, but it's so hard sometimes.
I felt hopeful, but how hopeful could I let myself be?
Was there anyone to help me?
To help us?
Were we ever going to feel "normal" again?
I remember feeling isolated.
I remember feeling anxious and overwhelmed,
I remember thinking I was and we were the only ones.
The truth is, experiencing health related challenges, such as infertility and mental health issues is actually quite common.
Through my own experience I now feel very positive about the future for you. The experiences and situations you find yourself in do not have to be the things that ruin you. There are options, choices and different opportunities you may not even consider are possible.
That's where I come in. My focus for a long time now has been to provide a safe space for you to land. A place for you to be supported to explore the emotional aspects of your experience and to find ways to live the life you had dreamed of, even if it's different to every thing you had imagined.
I look forward to being the support you've been seeking and to being your partner on the journey to finding a new normal, no matter where you find yourself right now.
